Those who hike into the quieter and higher mountain areas and pay close attention may, with some luck, have the chance to hear a marmot whistle. Those who are particularly lucky may even spot a vigilant or sunbathing rodent. The animals are diurnal but avoid the midday heat. Therefore, your best chances are early in the morning or late in the afternoon. We recommend keeping an eye out for these small rodents, especially on the Marmot Trail, around Lake Furgler, or at Fisser Joch. Good luck!
At the Högsee, located at 1,829m, you can enjoy a pleasant cooling off on hot summer days. Swimming is allowed here, so what are you waiting for? Dive into the cool water or take a pedal boat ride. For those who prefer a more natural experience, a hike to the romantically situated Urgsee is recommended. Upon arrival, it's time to take off your shoes! While swimming is not allowed in this natural mountain lake, those who don't mind the icy cold water can dip their tired feet in. 100% guaranteed refreshment.
Your memory of a perfect hiking holiday. Grab a hiking pass (for a small fee) and embark on a medal hunt. Various hiking destinations throughout the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis region are marked for conquest. At each station, there's a sign and a hole punch. Punch your hiking pass and collect points. The more diligent you are, the better you'll fare. Depending on your score, you'll receive a bronze, silver, or gold hiking medal. Tip: For the youngest hikers, there's a Murmli & Berta hiking pin available starting at 20 points.
"Marend" is Tyrolean dialect for a snack. In the past, hardworking farmers would refuel with fresh energy during the afternoon "Marend." This snack tradition has persisted and is still cherished by many families. Because a "Marend" is not just a quick snack. It's an expression of conviviality. People take their time and gather in a cozy circle. You can try the Tyrolean "Marend" after a strenuous hike in our bistro. We look forward to welcoming you!
In the Alpine region, there's an old tradition for escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's as simple as it is effective. If you want to unwind and let your thoughts wander, just sit down on one of the numerous 'Holzbankla' (wooden benches) in the region and do nothing for 20 to 30 minutes. Just take deep breaths and enjoy the warmth of the sun on your skin. Observe nature. Nothing else. You'll see, you haven't been this relaxed in a long time.
